WHAT WILL MY FIRST SESSION BE LIKE?
In your first session, we will spend some time getting to know you and the issues that brought you into treatment. We will ask you to fill out a consultation form, which gives us information about your presenting concerns, as well as your history and background. Most likely, you’ll find yourself talking about your current symptoms or struggles, as well saying a bit about your interests, your hobbies, diet and general lifestyle.
Most importantly, in the first session, you will begin making a connection with your therapist. You should feel safe, relaxed, and comfortable.
HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER REFLEXOLOGY?

HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER A MASSAGE?
Massage can be either invigorating or relaxing depending on your requirements. However, massage makes the body systems function more efficiently, speeding up waste removal and the elimination of toxins. So effects after a massage may include:-
frequent urination
headache
thirsty
sleepy
nausea
increased energy
fatigue
skin reactions
emotional
healing crisis
WHAT CAN I DO AT HOME TO TAKE FULL BENEFIT OF THE TREATMENT?
Home care is important and looking at your general lifestyle can help to prolong treatment benefits. We will give you after-care advice after your treatment but, in general, we recommend you:
Avoid stimulants – alcohol, tea, coffee and non-prescription drugs for at least 12 hours WHEN?
Increase fluid/water intake (to help flush the toxins out of the body) WHEN?
Rest as much as possible if tired after treatment
Eat a balanced, healthy diet
Increase exercise in general
Consider your posture (especially if have sedentary job)
Stop smoking
Get at least 7 - 8 hours' sleep
- Learn about relaxation techniques
Manage stress levels
Practice self-massage
Learn about the use of heat and cold e.g. compresses
Have a variety of hobbies
Improve time management
Incorporate reflexology as part of a holistic lifestyle
ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS FROM REFLEXOLOGY?
Though a very gentle therapy, reflexology can have powerful emotional and physical effects. Mild reactions to treatment are perfectly normal and are just the body cleansing itself of toxins and encouraging rebalance in the body. These side effects normally stop after a few treatments and don't mean that reflexology has done any harm. On the contrary, it indicates that it is having a deeply balancing effect on your body.
You may experience:
Increase in any current symptoms - for example, fatigue, muscle ache
Headaches
Flatulence
Diarrhoea
A desire to urinate or defecate and a change in odour or colour
Nausea (especially if being treated for digestive problems)
Runny nose or cough (especially if being treated for sinus problems)
Change in sleep patterns
Heightened emotional reactions
DO YOU TREAT PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC, SEVERE OR TERMINAL HEALTH PROBLEMS?
Yes. If you are being treated for a specific health problem, we may ask you to seek permission from your GP or medical specialist before treatment can take place. However, Complementary therapies can be used alongside conventional medical treatments for patients with chronic, severe or terminal health problems. They may help you feel better and cope better, help you relax, to reduce your pain and to help with sleeping problems.
